ECO-UNESCO's Green Pathways Programme

A free training programme under the Momentum initative to increase the career prospects of young people 

  • Are you aged 25 or under?
  • Are you unemployed for more than 1 year and receiving social welfare allowance/benefit?
  • Do you want to up-skill in the environmental field and progress onto paid employment or further and higher education?

 If so, ECO-UNESCO’s Green Pathways may be just the programme you are looking for. Green Pathways is a FREE training programme.

What? 

The aim of Green Pathways is to progress young people aged 25 or under onto paid employment in the green economy, or on to further and higher education with institutions such as DIT. Green Pathways is suitable to those who wish to:

Having a career in sustainable development/the environment

or

Start their own green business

or 

Work with young people in the community 

Along with recieving excellent training, participants will also undertake a valuable work placement experience to help them get their ‘foot in the door’ to companies and organisations they may not otherwise have access to. With the green economy earmarked as an area for huge growth, the programme focuses on up-skilling young people today, allowing them to be at the forefront of one of tomorrow’s leading sectors.

When?

The programme will run on a part-time basis from:  

March 2013 –October 2013: Full

May-December 2013:Enrolling now!

Green Pathways runs for a period of 27 weeks and will require a high level of commitment from participants.


Where?

The programme will take place at ECO-UNESCO’s headquarters and training centre,
the
Greenhouse, 17 St Andrew Street, Dublin 2


How?
You have to apply through your local Department of Social Protection DSP Employment Services office.

ECO-UNESCO will be hosting Introductory Briefing Sessions, in the Greenhouse, 17 St. Andrew St., Dublin 2 two weeks prior to commencment of the programme.  These will provide an overview of the programme and we will answer any questions you may have.

Note: If a Pathway does not have a sufficient number of participants, then it may be dropped from the Green Pathways programme.
