ECO-UNESCO National Youth ECO-Forum 2011: Green Entrepreneurs – Inspire, Innovate, Create

Each year ECO-UNESCO’s National Youth ECO-Forum brings together young people aged 15 – 18 from all over Ireland to speak directly with experts and policy-makers, develop youth- led plans for action in their schools and communities and above all, make their voices heard on the issues that are important to them!

ECO-UNESCO’s National Youth ECO-Forum was part of Innovation Dublin 2011, which took place across Dublin from Oct 17th to Nov 18th. The festival demonstrated Dublin’s capacity to inspire, interact and innovate.

Green Entrepreneurship and Innovation was the theme of this year’s National Youth ECO- Forum.

This year’s national Youth ECO-Forum was a great success! Over 50 young people met in ECO-UNESCO’s Dublin home, the Greenhouse, and Dublin City Council’s Wood Quay Venue, to learn about young green entrepreneurship. With guest speakers from sponsors Dublin City Council, Cornucopia and Rothar, the young people learnt to inspire, innovate and create!

Highlights of the day included:

  • The Green Business Trail of Dublin
  • Guest youth speakers from Donegal Pens and Loreto Stephen’s Green
  • Q&A with the Experts!
  • Generating eco-business ideas

Thanks to all our sponsors, volunteers and the young people themselves for making the National Youth ECO-Forum 2011 such a success!
