Green Skills, supported by Accenture, is a full-time 10 week training course that aims to provide young people with the skills, expereience and support they need to progress onto paid employment or education. The course is open to all young people aged between 18 - 25 years old who are not in employment, education or training. All participants will receive:
QQI 5 Sustainable Development
Sustainable development is a holistic approach to meeting humanities needs going forward, while taking into account the environment, society and the economy, and is a very important part of entering the emerging green business sector. ECO-UNESCO is a registered QQI (formerly known as FETAC) training centre, and is offering free professional training in Sustainable Development as part of the Green Skills programme.
The work placement section encompasses motivational training, CV preparation, simulated interviews, and a valuable five week work placement. The work placements are chosen based on each individual's needs in order to give participants the opportunity to get their 'foot in the door' to companies and organisations they may not otherwise have had access to, and to give access to work placements that each individual would genuinely consider valuable towards their career progression.
To ensure each young person is confident and happy, there are one-to-onesupport meetings available throughout the work placement, as well as support through a jobs club in the three months after the programme finishes. There is a number of expereienced staff on hand to ensure that each young person is given a genuine oppotunity to progress at their own pace towards paid employment.
The next Green Skills starts on March 20th 2017.
