Marketing & Communications Intern

ECO-UNESCO is seeking a Marketing & Comms Intern to join the team. This role is suited to someone with a background in design and an interest in digital storytelling, who is keen to develop their skills in a purpose-driven organisation. The ideal candidate will have an eye for detail, an understanding of how to create engaging content and an interest in communicating environmental and youth-focused initiatives in a clear and creative way.

You will:
• Support the creation of visual assets for social media, campaigns, and events
• Assist with content planning, writing, and scheduling across digital platforms
• Contribute to storytelling by highlighting programmes, projects, and impact
• Help maintain brand consistency 
• Work closely with the team on day-to-day marketing and communications tasks

Start date: May 5/6
Duration: 2 months
Hours: 15-20 per week (flexible, remote and in-person)

Voluntary Chairperson for ECO-UNESCO's Education & Training Committee

ECO-UNESCO is currently seeking Expressions of Interest for the voluntary role of External Chairperson of our Education and Training Committee.

This is a governance-focused position, offering a valuable opportunity to contribute to the quality and integrity of our QQI-accredited education and training programmes (NFQ Levels 3–6).

As Chair, you will provide independent leadership to the Committee, supporting oversight of academic standards, programme quality, and learner supports, while ensuring compliance with QQI quality assurance requirements. The Committee plays a key role in advising our Board of Directors and ensuring that education and training decisions remain independent, robust, and learner-focused.

We are particularly interested in individuals who:
• Have experience within the Further Education and Training (FET) sector
• Bring governance experience, ideally including chairing committees or boards
• Hold a minimum NFQ Level 8 qualification in a relevant discipline
• Have an understanding of quality assurance frameworks, including QQI
• Are independent of ECO-UNESCO and aligned with our mission and values

Role details:
• Voluntary position
• Quarterly meetings (primarily online, with occasional in-person meetings in Dublin)
• Opportunity to contribute to a leading environmental education organisation working with young people across Ireland

ECO-UNESCO works to educate, empower, and inspire young people to take action on environmental issues, and will celebrate its 40th anniversary in 2026.
