Submission Guidelines
These guidelines provide a breakdown of the submission process for the YEA. They outline the methods of editing the submission form, the submission requirements and the judging criteria for the YEA.
Submission Folder
After registering, each group receives a link to their online submission folder containing the relevant submission document. This can only be accessed by members of your group via the link. The document can be completed in different ways:
A) Online: The submission document can be completed online as it is a live document where any edits are automatically saved if you are connected to the internet. Multiple members can edit at the same time.
B) Offline: The document can be uploaded and completed offline (e.g. Word document) and the re-uploaded.
C) Printed: The document can also be printed, completed by hand and then re-uploaded into the submission folder.
You may upload additional documents to your folder if they are directly related to your project. Please note there is no submission button – what is contained in your folder after the submission deadline will be accepted as your final submission.
Submission Requirements
Group Submission Form (All age categories): This form is the be completed by young people in the group. We recommend completing this as your group progresses through your project.
Mentor Submission Form (Super Junior Only): This form is to be completed by the mentor of your group.
1-Minute Video (All age categories): A video must be uploaded to your submission folder. The aim is to give the judges a taste of your project. You could use the minute to introduce your team and their work, highlight the importance of your chosen issue, demonstrate the impact of your project, and show your passion and commitment.
Adjudication Process
- Initial Assessment: All submitted YEA projects are assessed by an internal judging panel and shortlisted projects are invited to the ECO-Dens Semi-Finals.
- Semi-Final Assessment: At the ECO-Dens, groups are marked on their pitches by expert regional judging panels. Projects are once again shortlisted and finalists are invited to the Showcase and Awards Ceremony.
- Final Assessment: At the Showcase and Awards Ceremony, winners are decided based on scores from each assessment stage, as well as judging on the day.
