‘Camera on Citizenship’ Photo Submission

Rio+20 United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development takes place in June 2012. Leading up to this Summit, we want you to consider;

What does being an active European and global citizen for sustainable development mean to you?

  • Does it mean promoting FairTrade products in your school?
  • Does it mean signing a petition to stop the destruction of the amazon?
  • Does it mean getting your community involved in a massive clean-up?
  • Does it mean promoting FairTrade products in your school?
  • Is it protesting the Irish government to have good environmental and trade policies implemented here at home?
  • Or finding ways to encourage dialogue between people of different cultures and socio-economic classes living in your town or city?

HOW TO ENTER:

We are then inviting you to show us through your camera lens what it means to you to be an active European and global citizen. Your photo can be of people, images, landscapes or objects. We are looking for creativity. You must submit:

 1. Your full name

 2. Your community/locality

 3. Photograph (electronically in high resolution)

 4. Title of photograph

 5. Brief description of the photograph (25 words maximum)

 6. Explanation of how your photograph demonstrates active citizenship(150 words maximum)

There will be PRIZES for the best submissions. All photos will be enlarged and displayed during the photography exhibition in June 2012 at the Greenhouse. Top submissions will be included in a special Young Person’s Guide to Rio+20 and the Millennium Development Goals.
