What?
ECO-UNESCO’s Junior ECO-Watchers Training Week for Teachers is a Department of Education and Skills approved summer course, SESE Geography.
This 5-day course will help teachers to gain knowledge, skills & inspiration to integrate practical, hands-on and readymade environmental education activities related to Energy, Waste, Climate, Outdoor & Water education. Participants will also be introduced to Environmental Action Projects, which can be implemented at a class or school level for participation in the DPSM Award of Excellence and/or the Green Schools Green Flags initiative. The course is based on the SESE Geography curriculum, with strong links to both the Science and SPHE curricula.
Each day covers a different theme, as follows:
Day 1: Energy Watchers
Day 2: Waste Watchers
Day 3: Wild Watchers
Day 4: Water Watchers
Day 5: ECO-Watchers ECO-literacy and Action Planning
