Outline of the programme
Here is an overview of all the activities of our Youth Peer Education Programme during 2014
ECO-UNESCO’s Youth for Sustainable Development Programme; Global Youth Leaders for change, engages young people in a fun, interactive way.
The initial 12 weeks of workshops equips the young people with the knowledge, values, attitudes and skills to further explore various ESD/De topics such as;
- Climate change
- Biodiversity Loss
- Gender Equity
- Peace and Justice
- Water
- Health
- Food Security
- Globalisation
- Trade
Following this 12 week programme young people undertake various local to Global Action projects to be entered into the Young environmentalist Awards
The young people involved with the programme not only gain practical experience but also receive a QQI Level 5Award in Peer Education for Sustainable Development.
Other opportunities arise which the young people are encouraged to participate in including national youth forums and events, seminars, transnational forums, international visits trips and the opportunities to represent ECO-UNESCO at various events.
